Back Water Valve Installation & Service

BACK WATER VALVE INSTALLATION AND SERVICE

We’ve all see the adds especially in Toronto, where the city is recommending homeowners install main line back water valves on their sanitary drain lines. The Mainline Full port Backwater Valve is currently the only backwater valve approved in the Province of Ontario for home installation on the main sanitary sewer lateral. These valve boxes stop city sewage from backing up into your home. Caldwell plumbing has installed several of these devices for many home owners which no longer have too worry!

If your neighborhood is older then 40 years you could be at risk of old city infrastructure backing up into your home.

The Toronto Municipal building code states all new homes must have a “Full Port Main Line Back Water valve” installed immediately before the property sewer exits the foundation of the home.

For existing houses the Municipal Building Codes require you to have a full port main line backwater valve installed

If your property has a low elevation (at the bottom of a street) and your main floor is below the most up stream manhole you are required to install a Back-water valve according too the municipal building code.
