Its almost a safe bet to say that everyone who owns a toilet will at one point or another experience a clogged toilet. It is frustrating yes, but have patience and take action right away to avoid this problem getting even worse. The first thought that usually crosses someones mind in this situation is ‘Maybe try flushing it again’, but we all know your rolling the dice when you do that. Your best bet is avoid that route and simply do damage control.

To start you will want to clean up any spillage that may have been caused by the overflow of the clogged toilet. Once mopped up you want to determine the nature of the clog, is it ‘natural’ or is the source of the problem a foreign objet? This question will help determine our game plan as any type of ‘natural’ blockage you will want to push down the toilet with a plunger and any clog due to a foreign object will need to be removed with a close auger. If you push down the foreign object you will end up doing more harm than good as it could result in a serious blockage to your drain and/or waste system.

Something to keep in mind as well, if the tub, sink and toilet in your bathroom are all backed up at the same time it usually means that the branch drain line that links those bathroom fixtures may be clogged. In this case you will want one of our skilled plumbers to assist with unclogging your toilet so feel free to contact Caldwell Plumbing.
