Self-Riming kitchen sinks are very simply and easy to install and more so for the DIY type installations. Most of them are made from cast iron coated with enamel, enamelled steel, fibreglass, acrylic, resin composites or stainless steel. Due to the fact that cast-iron is heavy gravity alone holds the sink in place with little or not mounting hardware required. Other then the fact that they tend to be heavy while lifting into place the self-rimming kitchen sink is a very easy sink to install.

Keep in mind that if you plan on replacing your current sink with a self-rimming sink you need to ensure that the new sink is the same size, if not larger, then the sink it will be replacing. Also, prior to installing the new sink you must make sure that all old silicone caulk residue is removed from the previous sink. If not, the new caulking that you apply to hold the new sink in place will not adhere properly.
