Ice makers are a very convent tool to have. They can supply you with an endless supply of ice for home use. Once you have one you will wonder how you ever got by without it. Today, most of your higher end model fridges come equipped with ice makers. For those models that do not come with the ice maker you can purchase a 3rd party ice maker unit and have int installed in your current model.
To determine if your current fridge is a good fit for an ice maker unit you will want to inspect the back of the unit just behind the freezer compartment. If you do not have the required plumbing already installed in your fridge you will need to hook up a cold-water supply line to your current fridge which does involve some drilling. In order to properly make this connection you may need to refer to and abide by some local codes so it is always wise to look into that prior to beginning this project.
