You have seen it on movies or tv shows and some of us have even experienced it for ourselves. Your in the shower when suddenly someone flushes a nearby toilet. The temperature of the water in the shower shoots up to an uncomfortable level. Not only does it not feel nice it could scald you. Due to this some single-handle tub and shower faucets have what is known as scald control also known as anti-scald valve or balancing valve. Its main roll is to keep the water in your shower from getting too hot by balancing out the the temperature automatically.
The maximum temperature level can be adjusted right from the unit. To do so simply remove the handle along with the escutcheon to reveal either an adjustment screw or handle to tun the temperature to your liking.
